Volunteer Trips
Taking time off during your volunteer placement to travel is a great way to get to know the country, experience the culture and take a break from your placement. So why not make the most of your volunteer experience overseas! BaseCamp staff can tell you of all the exciting, worthwhile and safe volunteer trips available, ( before, during or after your volunteer placement), and can help you arrange these exciting opportunties to explore their beloved country.
Visit remote ruins, mountain bike, zip line through the jungle, surf some of the best waves in the world or visit the abundant wildlife in the Galapagos islands. Our Volunteer Trips provide weekend getaway ideas that range from climbing adventures to chillin' on the beach, it all depends on what you are looking for.
Work weeks are generally Monday to Friday, with weekends free to explore. Time off can be booked in cooperation with your placement to allow for more extended volunteer trips throughout the country. You can also plan to volunteer at two different placements and take a break inbetween or you might want to travel before or after your volunteer period.
Depending on what you want to do and how much time you can spend in the country, your country coordinator can provide volunteer support by assisting you in planning and setting up your volunteer trips to accommodate your volunteer placement and the time you have to spend. Make sure you consult with them about possible trips, costs and durations.
