A volunteer nursing student at the National Rehabilitation Institute in Santa Ana will assist the nursing staff to do routine nursing care as well as, help assess, plan, implement and evaluate patients ...
Nursing student volunteers can help in a wide range of placements. While options exist for students of any level, many require volunteers to have completed at least their second year of training. Volunteer nursing students are required in a number of areas and in a range of settings including hospitals, clinics and rural community outreach programs.
Nursing student volunteers would be responsible for supporting and coordinating with nurses, doctors and staff at their placements to assist with patient intake, basic patient evaluations and providing assistance under the direction of the nursing staff supervising their placement.
Many nursing student volunteers have been able to have their overseas placement count towards their degree as a practicum. If this is something that you are interested in, please indicate this in your application where you describe your ideal placement and our team will be able to work with you to ensure that your placement will meet whatever requirements your institution may have.
