Research assistant volunteers for the Equilibrio Azul organization in Pedernales would dedicate 60% of their time to biological data collection & 40% to environmental educational activities.
Conservation volunteering placements bring volunteers to work directly with national parks, nature reserves and conservation organizations. The range of placements in this section cover, "hands-on" placements; working in the parks and reserves, as well as placements working to raise awareness regarding environmental and conservation issues in more urban areas.
While some background and training in conservation and park management may be beneficial, most of our conservation volunteer placements do not require any training. Generally, for placements that take place in parks or reserves, volunteers need to be willing to work in remote settings and to take on quite physical tasks. For conservation awareness projects, volunteers will not generally be living in urban areas and the placements tend to be less physically demanding.
