Computer and Office Skills Training Volunteers provide workshops and classes with community-based organizations that help people living in difficult circumstances with employment assistance. The computer training placements tend to focus on helping people learn how to use general office software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access etc...), website development and design, search engine optimization and social media training. For office skills, the focus tends to be on basic bookkeeping and office management training.
Naturally, many placements are looking for volunteers with either experience or education in the field they wish to teach. However, for placements teaching general office software, a general level of comfort with the software is all that is required. Likewise, social media training can be managed by anyone who is a regular and active user of several social media platforms and is willing to research marketing tactics for their classes.
The Computer and Office Skills Training section is a new category for us so our team is currently entering details into our system for these placements. In the meantime, if you are interested in working in this field please use the form on the right side of the page to send us an email and let us know what you would like to do. Our team will be happy to work with you to see if they can find a placement that would be a good fit.
